Skills Development |
| The Skills development refers to an enterprise's contribution to development of core, scarce and critical skills of Black employees, including specifically Black women and Black disabled employees. These contributions include internal and external training initiatives as well as direct and indirect training costs. The context of the skills development element is strongly premised upon the provisions of the Skills Development Act of 1998 and the Skills Development Levies Act of 1999, as well as the National Skills development strategy Apr 2005 - March 2010. Compliance to the act is required, which includes registering with the relevant Seta, development of a Workplace Skills Plan and implementation of training programmes targeting development of critical and core skills, before any credits may be claimed. The Generic scorecard measures the spend on skills development of Black employees, including Black women and Black disabled employees on core, scarce and critical skills, as well as the number of Black employees, Black women and Black disabled employees on registered learnerships and learning programs whereas the QSE Scorecard only measures the spend on skills development on learning programmes for on Black employees adjusted for gender recognition.
